According to statistics from the local cup and pot industry association cited by Yongkang Daily in January 2020, Yongkang City had over 300 insulation cup production enterprises, over 200 supporting enterprises, and more than 60000 employees in 2019.

According to a report by China Quality News in July 2020, out of the annual production of approximately 800 million insulated cups and kettles in China, 600 million are produced in Yongkang. At present, the output value of the Yongkang teapot industry exceeds 40 billion yuan, accounting for 60% of the national total, and the export volume accounts for more than 80% of the national total.

An interesting move is that in 2020, the Yongkang Stainless Steel Products Industry Association was renamed as the Yongkang Cup and Pot Industry Association. Reports at that time stated that this move was "aimed at better coordinating and coordinating the development of the insulation cup industry," indicating that the insulation cup industry originated from the local hardware industry and has now taken on its own.
