Insulating cup, just looking at appearance is not enough
Oct 14, 2023
The principle behind the insulation cup is not complex. The stainless steel insulation cup is a double-layer structure, and the two layers of stainless steel on the cup body and inner liner are welded and combined to form a vacuum, which does not transfer heat;
Plating silver or copper between the two layers of stainless steel on the cup body and inner liner to reduce radiation loss of heat; In addition, the cock of the insulation cup has good sealing performance, which can reduce the loss of heat through convection.
The insulation cup not only depends on its appearance, but when you hold it in the palm of your hand and drink water with it, you will find that the material is more important than its appearance.
At present, most insulation cups are made of stainless steel, which is mainly divided into three types, with codes 201, 304, and 316.
201 stainless steel: with high manganese content, poor corrosion resistance, and low price, it can only be used in the manufacturing of industrial products. If used in the inner liner of insulation cups, it can easily lead to manganese precipitation and cause harm to human health.
304 stainless steel: It belongs to food grade stainless steel and contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It is acid resistant and has good corrosion resistance. However, substances containing chloride ions are prone to pitting corrosion.
316 stainless steel: On the basis of 304 stainless steel, there is an additional metal molybdenum, which has better corrosion resistance, but the cost is relatively high, and most of it is used in high-precision and cutting-edge fields such as medical and chemical engineering.
Everyone is very concerned about choosing unqualified products. When purchasing insulation cups, some people mentioned that insulation cups that can be sucked by magnets are of good quality. Is this true?
At present, the commonly used 304 and 316 stainless steels on the market are non magnetic austenitic stainless steels, which mainly contain expensive iron, nickel, and chromium as alloying elements; Even austenitic stainless steel with low nickel and manganese content does not have magnetism. Although it is cheaper, its safety and performance are not poor, so magnetism cannot be used to evaluate the quality of insulation cups.
