Preform Injection Molding
How it works:
The making of a water bottle usually starts with a prefabricated blank, called a "Preform". These preforms are produced by injection molding, usually from PET (polyethylene terephthalate). In the swelling process, PET resin is heated to a molten state and then poured into a mold that takes the shape of the bottle. When the PET resin cools and hardens, you get a blank that looks like the final bottle.
